His sire Redfort is by Rebel Z, the full brother to Ratina Z, the 1992 Silver medallist in Show Jumping and the highest ranked mare in the WBFSH International Breedrs Guide for 1999/2000. The influence of Alme (sire of Argentina Z, the dam of Rebel Z) adds an interesting dimension to Riverman's pedigree. Riverman bears the world proven influence of Landego, Calypso II, Landgraf I, and Cor de la Bryere; Holsteiner legends living out a new legacy in a modern day prince.

Riverman earned his place in the German FN's 2000 statistics as one of the top sires of his generation. Riverman stands 2nd in the FN's Jumping Index and 3rd in the Overall Index for stallions of his age group, due to the success of his offspring in both dressage and jumping competition. Riverman's prepotency is clearly indicated not only by these statistics, but also by the scores of premium offspring and breed show champions he sires each year.

Riverman arrived in the US with strong breeding credentials to prompt his popularity. His memorable Grand Championship victory at Dressage at Devon in 1995 catapulted Riverman into the North American breeding market. His prepotency outstanding offspring has maintained this momentum. Riverman sons and daughters in Europe have earned 10's on character and rideability in stallion and mare performance tests. Riverman offspring have represented the Holsteiner Verband at the annual Bundeschampionat (National Breeders Championships).
Riverman youngsters have been sold out of Germany to Holland, Sweden, Denmark, England, the Czech Republic, and more.

His dam: Miss Admiral by Columbus (owned by Fran Dearing USDF Judge)

Columbus was the first holsteiner stallion at RLQ and was there flagship stallion until his death in 2000. He was Betty’s first stallion. Betty first saw him as one of several youngsters recently approved at Loxley. He was not her first choice, but she was convienced to take him because he had the temperment suitable for a first time stallion owner. He became Betty’s personal riding horse, and the first horse she trained to Grand Prix dressage. Columbus was a special horse – what set him apart was the combination of his mind and lack of physical limitations. He had the conformaiton to do the work and the self-confidence to accept the training and remain relaxed. He never said no.

Columbus was born in 1980, bred in Germany by Gustav Weber – by Calypso II and out of Marina by Faranese/Marder/Gabriel Stam 1907. He has a full brother who stood in Holstein under the name Corso.

Columbus was a very modern stallion; leggy, narrow through the barrel, with a pretty face and great topline. He passed on good legs, good feet and a good back, three good gaits and a sterling temperment. He left behind 150 AHHA registered offspring and 50 –100 registered with another registry. They vary in size but they are uniformily good movers and all exhibit the wonderful disposition of their sire. They are prized by their mostly amature owners and have been successful in dressage, as well as hunters and jumpers. They are easy to break, easy to ride and easy to deal with.

Rapscallion stands for the 2008 Season at a Stud Fee of $500 - ONLY Fresh and cooled semen is available.
